The video I chose to review this week is the music video for Oren Lavie's song "Her Morning Elegance," which was released back in 2009. It's done entirely in stop-motion, which I thought was relevant to our new project -- I'm actually taking quite a bit of inspiration from it for my own upcoming animation. I thought that the use of stop motion for this video was very smart, in particular their use of the pixilation technique to place the actors in different settings without actually moving the camera. Having props act as background elements (pillows as clouds, blankets as the road, etc) was a really creative way to establish a dynamic scene without leaving the original set, and all of the transitions within the video were very smooth as well. I very much enjoyed it!
