Week 11 Response

This week, I decided to respond to Rae's chosen video titled "Her Morning Elegance". I thought this piece was very creative and imaginative. The use of settings was expertly done through the use of props. I also liked how the center of gravity for the piece was changed throughout to give the impression of a different time of day or weather pattern. I was really astounded by the actress during the short film. She did every action with her eyes closed, which must have been a challenge. This is especially true since there is so much movement throughout the piece. It must have taken a lot of conscious effort on her part to move, reclose her eyes (if she needed to), and remain consistent during filming. I also liked how her red hair contrasted against the whites and blacks of the sheets and backgrounds. It allowed her curls stand out against the flat background and interact with the environment. Overall, I really enjoyed watching this stop-motion short film.
