This animation looks gorgeous, like I don't even know where to start. The beautiful backgrounds contrasted by the dark and gritty houses really sets the scenes of abandonment. Houses travelling together and humanized is an interesting take on giving life to inanimate objects. Companies such as Pixar usually turn weird objects into personified forms of fresh air, such as Toy Story that uses toys and connections to their owners to make compelling stories, or giving bugs/cars/robots emotions people usually have to deal with in their fields.
I love the little house that's like a puppy. It's such a weird choice, but it actually sounds cute haha.
I think this animation is about a journey of life, and taking the opportunities to make the most of it. A lot happens between these two houses, and one eventually cannot keep going and meets the end. I think adding a puppy house and giving a long journey before a somewhat bittersweet ending makes you feel for the houses, despite just being a piece of bricks and wood.
