Week 7_Response_Julianna Tillman

The animation I watched was the Imagine Dragon's Birds music video. I really loved this short from beginning to end. The symbolism through the piece was very meaningful and easily determined throughout the story. Meanwhile, the storytelling does an excellent job blending into the song. The use of hand-drawn animation is also stylistic and unique. The expressions used on the main character do a great job depicting her growth and emotions. Meanwhile, the colors, highlights, and shadows are also successfully incorporated onto the characters and world. The environments feel different from each other and easily showcase a transition in emotion or location. One thing I would have liked to see in the animation is a small credits scene that shows who worked on this short. The director is credited, but nobody else. Unless the animation was made entirely by one person, which would be very impressive, I would be interested in knowing how large of a team made this animation. Overall, this was a great example of modern hand-drawn animation.
