My response is about Skaza's "Happy Time. Short film. Watercolor Animation." The video is created beautifully. I really enjoyed the use of time-lapse, stop motion, and traditional animation to create the effects. The three-dimensional zoom used at the beginning of the video with the city-scape was also well-done. The use of perspective throughout the animation makes the watercolor come to life. The best artwork is through the forest scenery as the character is walking. The strong details of the foreground and the loose depictions of trees in the background give the abstract images a sense of realism. One part that wasn't successful in the video is the timing between the scenes. For example, the section in which the window comes closer and closer into view is a little too long. Meanwhile, some computer illustrated features contrasted a little too strongly with the hand-drawn/loose watercolor elements. Overall, the video was well-executed and showed the creator has a strong understanding of animation.
