 For this week, I am reacting to the Yellow Submarine music video put out by the Beatles. At first, I was looking forward to viewing the video, because I'm familiar with the song but I've actually never seen the video for it. Even so, I did not like this art style. The figures and backgrounds are all very flat, and there is no dynamic motion. I personally prefer realistic proportions and fluid motion depicted along with fast paced action and dynamic movement. So, though I do not like this art style, I recognize that it fits the song very well. The general vibe of the song matches with the whimsical cartoonish animation. The "yellow submarine" lyrics defines the silly and nonsensical chorus, so the silly and nonsensical animations work very well in tandem with the music.
