Timothy Walter Burton (Tim Burton) was born in Burbank, California. He spent most of his childhood as a recluse, drawing many cartoons, and watching old films. He is fond of the films Vincent Price is a part of. Tim Burton's style of animation is Gothic. The characters of his animation films are stretched out like sticks. His style also affects costumes. All his films revel in gothic imagery. From the characters to the props, houses and cities where the film takes place and are drawn exaggerated in a cartoonish way to emphasize the "goth" features. Tim Burton's films reflect the view points of his characters and the observance of the mundane vs the outrageous. Tim Burton's 2005 film, "Corpse Bride" is a stop-motion animation film. The two characters of the film portrays a shy man running away from his arranged marriage, and the latter as the titular corpse bride. During the film, the puppets were used for filming the movie were about 9.8 to 11 inches tall and were precisely crafted that the animation and expressions were subtle. Another film Tim Burton did was in 2007, "Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street". This film was based on Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler's Tony Award-winning musical. Johnny Depp as Sweeney Todd is a murderous barber seeking revenge on a judge who falsely convicted him of a crime. This film had a lot of blood. Trigger warning for those who cannot handle blood/gore.
