The video I chose to review was the "Boney M - Rasputin" video, and it was entertaining to say the least. I watched it multiple times in order to try my best to fully understand it for my review, but honestly -- it's hard to find anything to write about other than the composition and editing itself because, in true video art fashion, there's really no discernible narrative at all. However, the A+ editing and collage compositions made it still very fun to watch. In the first half, the collage themes kind of felt like a bunch of random ideas shoved together back to back -- there's a prevailing outer-space theme that I can't really make sense of aside from the fact that it looks really cool -- but as the video continues, it slowly becomes a bit more coherent. The artist makes a point to keep the art moving to the beat of the music, and blends the artistic and musical components together in a way that makes the whole thing feel like if a music video and a nonsensical video-art gallery installation from the late '90s had a baby. I get the impression that it easily could have gone viral back in like 2010 when things like Annoying Orange and Smosh were taking off. It's silly and entertaining while simultaneously being really well edited and visually appealing.
