Project 1_Matthew
The theme of my project revolves around nature, and the end of winter. For my opening scene, I have a bear emerging from Hibernation. I'm hoping to use collage textures for the environments, like the cave and trees, while hopefully illustrating the animals, like the bear.
I also learned how to use Illustrator and Photoshop last class, both of which I had never used before. I now know how to cut out the assets I want to use for my project, and ultimately how to set up the environments for my narrative.
Sep 1:
I created rough drawings of the environments I wanted to create using collage elements.
Then, I ported the sketch into photoshop, and used about 10 different cave images to create the shape I wanted. This one is about 46 layers. Later, I am going to change the colors, but for now, I am going to do this for all of my environments.
Sep 12:
I added some deer and rendered out about 20 seconds. Now I know that working at the pace I'm at should be fine. I have some more backgrounds to make and some toonboom animations to create

I am working on animating all of the 2d parts to my project. Right now, I am almost finished with the scene where the bear wakes up. I am also wrapping up the creation of all the backgrounds I need for my narrative
I fully colored and animated part of my video, where the bear walks out to see the spring for the first time. I pretty proud of how this part turned out! The bear moves it's front leg and I played with the amount of in-between frames to show speed, as well as squash frames. I think that it turned out alright!

I created an animation bit with a woodpecker. I used ToonBoom for the bird and 3 layers of collage items on Photoshop for the background.
Sep 27
I used After Effects to create some moving wind effects on flowers. For the flowers closest to the back, I blurred them, and moved them at different speeds

I added some audio, did some adjustments, and I'm done! I ended up making one extra scene with bees, but I did it the same way I did the others, so nothing noteworthy.
